The Jardín Nativo de Aprendizaje program fosters the holistic development of children through connection with local nature and the strengthening of socio-emotional skills. Its approach stems from the idea that when childhood meets nature, curiosity, calm, and the capacity to learn flourish.

The main objective of the program is to diversify socio-emotional skills through deep learning and interaction with native flora. Through meaningful experiences in the natural environment, skills such as empathy, curiosity, emotional regulation, creative conflict resolution, growth mindset, and autonomy are promoted.

These skills are integrated into the daily, school, and family lives of the participants. The program also includes training for teachers and caregivers, providing them with tools to accompany and enhance this learning.

The methodology includes participatory milestones such as community garden co-design, collective planting, and the implementation of pedagogical activities in the natural space—processes that strengthen community cohesion and a sense of belonging. In doing so, the project not only contributes to improving mental health and academic outcomes but also inspires greater respect, appreciation, and care for nature.
